Twin sisters gave birth to their first child on same day

Two South Florida Twin sisters gave birth to their first child on same day. As fraternal twins, Cristina and Alexandra Lima have always been very close. "It's fun, we haven't ever known anything different. It's a built-in best friend," said Alexandra.

When Alexandra and her husband moved across the country to California, and then Las Vegas, it was very difficult for these twins to be apart. "So hard, so we ended up texting and blackberry messaging 27 times a day," said Alexandra. Everyone was taken by surprise at just how close these twins were connected. "I think it really shows the amazing power of sisterhood," said Dr. Randy Fink who delivered both babies.

Twin sisters gave birth

"Well, I found out first," said Cristina. A week after Cristina learned of her pregnancy, Alexandra found out she was also pregnant. Both with girls with due dates only one day apart. Alexandra knew she had to be with her twin sister during this special time, so she and her husband moved back to South Florida. On Wednesday, the two who already share so much became new mothers on the same day, delivering at Baptist Hospital in Kendall. "They probably would have conceived within 72 hours of each other, across the country, which is very unusual," said Dr. Fink.

Ava was delivered by C-section and weighed 9 pounds 8 ounces, and Olivia, who was delivered naturally, was 8 pounds 5 ounces. "Even to us, it's bizarre," said Alexandra. "We have so many similarities being twins, but we could never have predicted or asked for something as special as this. We are really blessed." The twins said even though the two beautiful baby girls are not technically twins, they will probably grow up feeling like they are. "We'd like them to grow up close like we did. like sisters. and if we dress them the same on any given day. that's the bonus," said Cristina.

Doctors are trying to unravel the mystery of an Indian village boasting 250 sets of twins born to just 2,000 families.

The phenomenon has seen almost six times as many twins born than the global average in the remote village of Kodinhi, in Kerala.

In 2008 alone 15 pairs of twins were born in the village out of 300 healthy deliveries and this year is expected to top that number

In the last five years alone up to 60 pairs of twins have been born, with the rate of twins increasing year-on-year.

Local doctor and twin enthusiast Dr Krishnan Sribiju has been studying the medical marvel of Kodinhi for the past two years. Although 250 sets of twins have been officially registered in the village Dr Sribiju believes the real number to be far higher. "In my medical opinion there are around 300 to 350 twins within the village boundaries of Kodinhi," he said

According to villagers, the twin phenomenon only started occurring three generations ago. Dr Sribiju said: "To the best of my knowledge this medical marvel began somewhere between 60 to 70 years ago

"Without access to detailed biochemical analysis equipment I cannot say for certain what the reason for the twinning is, but I feel that it is something to do with what the villagers eat and drink"

Lucky man marries thai twins simultaneously

After Mr Wichai (Tao), aged 24, from Samut Songkram province, who earns his living by dealing in old goods, got married to gorgeous twins Ms Sirintara and Ms Thipawan 22, he vouched his sincerest 'equal love' for both of them!

Mr Wichai, just yesterday, got married in a grand ceremony to both twins simultaneously.

Lucky man marries thai twins simultaneously
Subject: Lucky Man Marries Thai Twins.
(Translated from the Thai Rath Newspaper)

On being interviewed by Thai Rath reporters, Mr Wichai declared wholeheartedly that he didn't see much problem in having to perform tiresome marital duties with two wives.

In the engagement ceremony before the wedding dress gallery, Mr Wichai successfully offered a dowry of eight baht of gold and 80,000 baht EACH for his lovely darlings.

Both families celebrated the marriage with joy and were said to be delighted for the threesome.

Mr Wichai told the press that he had been best of friends with his neighbouring twins since they were children.

'When I grew older, I would walk past their house each morning and try to decide for myself which one I fancied more, but it was darn impossible - I adored BOTH of them - I just couldn't decide which one of them to chat up.....!'
He went on to say, 'For three continuous years all three of us would go on dates together, until there was one day when I couldn't stand the frustration any longer and told them, 'I love you and want to marry you BOTH''

The fortunate Mr Wichai, instead of getting a slap in the face, was overjoyed when both girls admitted to having sworn all along that they wished to marry the same man!

'It wasn't easy at first, what with the neighbours gossiping, but our family sympathized, understood, and fully supported our mutual love for the one man' the twins said.

Mr Wichai arranged for his brides to live with him in his family house after the wedding, and his mother has already proudly prepared TWO rooms for the newly-weds.

Our reporters were just gagging to hear the response to this mouth-watering question:-
"And.... what are the sleeping arrangements Mr Wichai?", to which he replied modestly with a beaming smile.

'Absolutely no problems! For the first three nights of the week, I will sleep with Ms Thipawan and the next three will be spent with Ms Sirintara. As for every Saturday, the three of us will sleep together'.

Ms.Sirintara finally told the press, 'When my twin and I worked as assistant nurses, we promised each other that we would never leave each other's side, and that our future husband would have to either take us both, or leave us.'

Couple celebrate birth of their second set of in less than three years

They say that lightning never strikes twice - but one couple are coping with double-double trouble after they had their second set of twins in less than three years.

When Adel and Blane Pearson discovered they were having twins three years ago, they thought it was a fantastic surprise. But the couple were stunned when Adel fell pregnant a second time - and learned she was again expecting twins.

Now they are regarded as a 'one in a million' family by experts because the first set of twins - Grace and Ruby - are non-identical while the latest arrivals - Isla Mae and Isobel - are identical.

All four girls were conceived naturally, without the need for any IVF treatment, and there is no history of twins in their families.

TwinsBut it means Adel, 30, and Blane, 35, go through 100 nappies a week and have to plan everything like a military operation, such as the children's feeding, bathing and getting them dressed.

Debbie Ross, membership manager of the Twins and Multiple Birth Association, described the Pearson family's two sets of twins as 'practically unheard of.'

'The chance of having non-identical twins is one in 67 while the chance of having identical twins is about one in 1,000', she said.

'But the chances of having two sets of twins, identical and non-identical, must be one in a million. You will find very few families who have a pair of identical twins and a pair of non-identical twins.'

Non-identical twins Grace (7lb 6oz) and Ruby (7lb 8oz) were born on December 9, 2005 - although the twist was that the girls look identical.

Identical twins Isla Mae (7lb 6oz) and Isobel (8lb 6oz) were born on August 26 this year.

On both occasions Adel was induced at 38 weeks pregnancy, managing to carry her babies nearly all the way to full-term. Both sets of twins were also born through caesarean section three minutes apart.

But the joy of the arrival of their first set of twins turned to near-tragedy when Adel collapsed shortly afterwards with a blocked artery in her lung and a hernia and almost died.

TwinsShe was in hospital for five months fighting for her life which meant Blane had to look after Grace and Ruby alone at home.

'I was so ill and it hurt so much not being able to see my baby girls being raised. Blane was an absolute hero, doing the job of two of us while I was ill, Adel said.

'When I finally came out of hospital it was a enormous shock. I had to get better quickly and become a mother but with twins it was double the effort.

'To start with it was a nightmare telling them apart, so much so that I had to put tags on the end of their feet to make sure which one was Ruby and which one was Grace.'

The couple decided they wanted another child quickly to 'complete their family' so decided to try again to conceive.

Adel, 30, said: 'We weren't looking to have another set of twins but after I knew I was pregnant again I could see immediately that my belly was already very big.

'When I went to see my GP shortly before the scan he said to me, "I can say the chances of you having another set of twins is so rare it's not worth thinking about - it would be unprecedented."

'But then it happened. We went for our first scan at 13 weeks of the pregnancy and they told us I was expecting twins again.

'We didn't know how to react, we both just burst into laughter.

'I wouldn't know what to do with one baby on its own. My first thoughts were that this is going to be absolute hell but now I just find myself having to be very organised everyday.'

Although the first set of twins are technically called identical, Adel was certain that the second pair who are non-identical twins look more alike. She also believes they each have their unique own personalities.

'They're so alike in appearance but but actually the girls are poles apart in some ways', she said.

'Ruby and Isobel are nothing like their sisters character-wise. They both like their own way and can be very demanding. Grace and Isla Mae are more thoughtful. They like to take time to think things out and are more laid back like their Dad.'

Adel admitted that the family had become 'minor celebrities' where they live in Colchester, Essex.

She said: 'I can barely go out now, me and the girls are like celebrities. I can't go shopping without somebody stopping me and wanting a look at the girls.

'I try to dress them differently but everyone sees through it. People are just fascinated and have so many questions to ask.

'I really hope that they don't pair off and gang up against each other but at the moment it's just great to watch two pairs of very young twins forging a relationship together.'

'They are just fantastic.'
